When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. After a nearly hundred-year journey that’s carried us through acquisitions and expansion, we now have nine U.S. locations, as well as operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China.

Throughout this global expansion Teknor has remained a privately held company, and today Fain’s grandson sits at the helm, maintaining the family’s tradition of fostering deep employee and customer relationships. Position

Teknor Apex in City of Industry, California seeks a Production Supervisor for Graveyard Shift (10:30 pm - 7:30 am)

POSITION DETAILS

The Production Supervisor will lead and oversee all shift production and staff to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, production, and quality procedures. Respond to incidents, manage staff, and assign tasks based on shift priorities. Troubleshoot quality issues, coordinate with operators and group leaders, and report maintenance needs. Support continuous improvement efforts with process engineering and lead daily cross-shift meetings for seamless communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote a safe and clean work environment in line with company safety and environmental policies. Lead the shift in behavior-based safety.  Collaborate with the Safety Manager to strive for a zero-incident rate. Ensure that the production night shift team complies with all necessary regulatory requirements.
• Effectively lead the night shift workforce.  Ensure that we are promoting the seven core values with our employees. Coach, train, and discipline employees as necessary, and resolve personnel issues. Maintain compliance with all recordkeeping on attendance and performance reviews. Actively participate in shift communication meetings.
• Complete daily production plan by establishing shift priorities, monitoring progress, resolving process and quality problems, and reporting results of shift production on daily production reports. 
• Meets quality requirements by following quality procedures and ensure that manufacturing instructions are followed.  Use tools such as root cause analysis to problem-solve.  Work with process engineering and our quality professionals to maintain high quality.  Maintain compliance with all ISO: 9001 standards in the manufacturing departments.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma is required; bachelor’s degree in technical discipline is preferred.
• 3-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Solid background in batch or continuous process operations.
• Ability to work well with other core operations managers at the site.
• Fosters a positive work attitude and aligns with Teknor Apex’s Core Values
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with unionized workforce preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $67,704 - $80,000 per year.
